Telio expands its European business with takeover of SAGI

With the acquisition of the French market leader for inmate telephony SAGI, the Telio Group is now the world’s leading supplier of inmate telephony outside the USA. With its 105 employees, the Telio Group is active in 14 countries (including Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy and the United Arab Emirates) and has over 250,000 users.

“We are delighted that we have taken a further successful step in our internationalisation strategy with the acquisition of the French market leader,” commented first Stefan Vidos, Geschäftsleitung of the Telio Communications GmbH on the announcement of the takeover. With over 250 prisons served – of which more than 200 in France, 35 in Belgium and 12 in Germany – SAGI is the second-largest provider of inmate communication systems in Europe.

The merger will not result in any changes for the contractual partners of SAGI. In the long term, SAGI will be completely absorbed into the Telio Group. With immediate effect, SAGI customers will be able to benefit from the complete product portfolio of the Telio Group.
